I was at Kingsholm last week to see the Cherry & Whites kick off their season and what a start they made. I was chuffed with the first half and thrilled at the slick handling and physical game they bought to the Tigers. And then the fight back began and good old Leicester who seem to have it in their DNA clawed their way back into the game. As an ex Glos boy I was gutted for the home side but you have to admire the Tigers ability to never give up and find a way to win.

Tonight Glos have to make the trip to local boys Worcester and what a clash that will be. Worcester made a very credible fist of slowing down the steamroller that is Saracens on the opening weekend.

They were impressive in the first 40, making a mess of the breakdown and closing down any space for the champions. This game at home for them against a Glos side probably feeling a bit bruised mentally and physically is going to be one they will believe they can win.

The other pick for me this weekend is Tigers against Wasps. Can’t wait to watch who comes out on top there. Tigers will have to find a bit more behind the sofa to take on a confident and talent stuffed Wasps. I thought young Elliot Daly was outstanding last week and hats off to Jimmy Gopperth who if you did not see his try find it now on You Tube. Sensational stuff.

Bristol also made a cracking start to their campaign and were beyond unlucky not to get the win.

They have got a wobbly Saints team in their sightlines for their first Premiership home game at their fantastic new stadium. Saints are going to hve to up their game to deal with what will be coming their way. Quins were another team that had a shaky start to their campaign and face a tough and gritty Sharks side up at the AK Bell stadium.

Final game of the weekend is another one you will want to make sure you claim your place on the sofa. Exeter take on Saracens down at Sandy Park where the war cries will be heard up the M5.

Saracens look like they are going to still be missing their dead eye kicker Farrell and in a tight game that could make the difference.
